Welcome to my online home!
My name is Serena Bianca De Matteis and, in my twenties, I’ve been working for years as a professional social entertainer. Then graduated in Modern Foreign Languages and Literature, with a thesis in applied linguistics. I’m currently working as a Marketing and Sales professional by a multinational corporate; my job hasn’t so much to do with writing, but has A LOT to do with effective communication and getting in touch with people. Therefore it has A LOT to do with me! My keywords, in fact, are: Reading, Writing and Sharing.
I learned to read and write at 4, and never stopped since. I spend every second of my spare time reading, writing, and, in recent years, entertaining online and in-person groups of passionate readers and writers. In 2013 I joined the “Friends of the City Library” Association of my hometown; from this successful cooperation a Creative Writing Workshop was born in 2014, of which I’m proudly in charge.
I firmly believe that Stories – created, offered or received – make our lives more beautiful and worth living, so I take care to always have at least two, one to read and one to write.
I love and follow a lot of English and American writing blogs, because of their enthusiasm and positive attitude, their clarity and their generous approach, which resonate with my own values and my enthusiasm. I will review them and report them to Italian readers every time there’s an opportunity.
